Our program: The Spanish Schoolhouse offers a unique Spanish immersion program devoted to teaching and further developing the Spanish language in children. Classes are conducted entirely in Spanish by native speaking teachers.
Each child comes to our school with a unique knowledge of the Spanish language. Our teachers acknowledge these differences and ensure that each child gets individual attention. Small groups allow teachers the opportunity to work with each child at his or her own level.
The four main goals of our program are:
1.
to develop both oral and written communication skills in Spanish
2.
to learn and understand about various cultures of Spanish speaking nations
3.
to encourage the use of Spanish both within and outside the school community
4.
to understand the values of mastering another language
Our Mission Statement: We strive to foster a life long love of Spanish in our students. Children from Hispanic backgrounds will have the opportunity to sharpen their linguistic skills. Those children whose mother tongue is not Spanish will be provided with an opportunity to learn the language in a natural way as close to the way they learned their first language.
Our Philosophy: To provide each of our students with an opportunity to truly enjoy the process of learning Spanish in a safe and secure environment.
Why Learn Spanish? Learning a second or even third language has many benefits. It is an enriching experience which enhances academic growth, opens new doors and encourages new ways of thinking. Learning Spanish will also help develop and appreciation for the cultural diversity in Canada and the world.
